Role Summary


The Human Resources Compliance Manager will be a critical member of our company, responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will work with our executive team and outside legal counsel to oversee all human resources compliance functions and employee relations, company policies and procedures, and internal audits.


You will post and manage job openings and applications and coordinate with various departments at PhotoDay to vet candidates and guide the hiring process.


You will evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to current processes, create or update policies and procedures, and periodically audit records to ensure current and ongoing compliance.


You will have the responsibility to ensure that PhotoDay is adhering to applicable labor and employment legal standards and internal company policies, and will provide guidance on all compliance matters related to employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage job postings and the hiring process.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies related to employees and contractors.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for employees and contractors
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify any potential compliance issues and develop action plans to address them.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in employment laws and regulations and communicate any necessary changes to the executive team in a timely manner.
  • Train and educate employees and managers on compliance policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve any complaints or issues related to HR compliance.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records and documentation to demonstrate compliance with all laws and regulations
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure all company practices align with HR compliance standards
  • Communicate and advise company leadership on any potential risks or areas of improvement for HR compliance
  • Act as a resource and provide guidance to employees and managers on HR compliance matters
  • Identify and implement best practices for promoting a positive and ethical work culture
  • Ensure confidentiality and sensitivity in handling all HR compliance matters
  • Work closely with legal counsel to ensure compliance with all legal requirements
  • Participate in HR meetings and initiatives to provide insight and expertise on HR compliance matters

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Human Resources, or a related field required.
  • 5 plus years within a Human Resources or Legal department, working in an audit or compliance capacity.
  • Knowledge of identifying human resources compliance risk and providing methods to mitigate risk.
  • Experience and understanding of key federal and state employment laws, including without limitation, Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, etc.
  • Experience and understanding of how to properly onboard employees, including without limitation completing the Form I-9 and E-Verify processes and recordkeeping requirements associated with same.
  • Experience and understanding of handling employee background checks.
  • Capable of developing a short and long-range plan for areas of responsibility
  • Ability to work onsite full-time.
  • Strong attention to detail and an analytical mindset.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow complex instructions.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new tools and software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
