Bulk shipping got an exciting upgrade! Previously, studios had to use private galleries to offer bulk shipping. Now, bulk shipping is available for all three job types (Public, Group, and Private) with specific labs, including Miller’s.

Bulk shipping in PhotoDay lets you specify a single shipping destination for all orders tied to a job, so they ship together to one location—completely free. 

This feature not only saves you time and money, but it delights your customers and organizations while encouraging quick sales.

No Longer Just for Schools

PhotoDay’s e-commerce shopping options include direct-to-customer drop shipping for all gallery types. Because bulk shipping relied on subject data to group and sort orders, it was only compatible with private gallery jobs, as that job type was the only one that supported subject data at the time. Private gallery jobs are most commonly used for schools, leaving sports, dance, and event picture days without a bulk shipping solution.

Now, subject data can be used in all three job types, but we didn’t stop there! To ensure bulk shipping works in as many scenarios as possible, you don’t even need subject data to offer it in non-private jobs. 

This is an exciting feature enhancement that opens the door to offering bulk shipping for sports leagues, dance studios, and more!

Customizable Grouping & Sorting

How can we organize bulk fulfillment without subject data? Glad you asked. 

With a bulk shipping price sheet attached, you can customize grouping and sorting fields in the job’s shipping section—these settings tell the lab how to group and label the shipment for pickup.

‍For Private Gallery Jobs, orders will automatically be split up per subject and any additional grouping and sorting options.

For Public and Group Gallery Jobs, you can use bulk shipping with or without subject data.

For all job types, you can configure additional grouping and sorting options in the Job’s Bulk Settings. You have complete control over how things are grouped and sorted—use existing subject data or create custom options. 

While these options aren’t required, they offer helpful flexibility and organization come delivery day!
